A christmas challenge at that craft place

Hi there folks, hope you are all doing ok. It's been a tough couple of weeks for me here, as I've had a lot going on... there was a death in the family recently, (my 95 year old grandfather) and the funeral was the day before yesterday. It was a beautiful service, and a higher than expected turnout, which was very touching.

Through it all, I've kept crafting, and having pieces to work on for my design teams has really helped my well-being both physically and mentally!

This card is for the christmas challenge that starts today  over on the that craft place challenge blog , using one of the christmas betty boots images from the that craft place etsy store

I've used a mixture of goodies from the Shop and from my stash to create this card, the base of which is a Sizzix flip its die set from a couple of years ago, that I'm loving to find new uses for. It is such a unique shape that many people haven't really seen before and immediately adds wow factor
I used silver papers and matching embellishments as the top layers, with a hint of green and red to tie in with the beautiful digital stamp that I used
I coloured her in Copics , and on the reverse of the flip elements I added some cute little snowflakes and a bow . I also doodled by hand around the paper edges, and did some faux stitching with a white gelly roll pen.

I finished up with some twine , and half pearls in various sizes, and grey /turquoise colour tones

You can find lots of yummy supplies for your cards in the online shop group  HERE
in person at the bricks and mortar shop HERE (based in East Sussex)
find challenges and inspiration on the That Craft place blog
and natter about your current or planned creations in  the natter and chatter group on facebook HERE

Hope you enjoyed this card and happy crafting

and many thanks for reading

let me perk you up - midweek inspiration for Karleigh Sue Digis

Hey there everyone, I'm bringing you a 'criss cross card' today , which has a central pocket, and stands using a card easel, instead of the typical basic folded card!

I had a lot of fun making this card, and when some dies that arrived whilst I was making it , I just had to incorporate them as they looked so pretty once embellished with some stamping and little sentiments!
she's perfect for an autumn or Winter birthday!

I put together a quick look around the card, unfortunately my internet keels over if the file is too big or long so it really is a quick look!

all the products I have used are listed in the end credits, apart from my copic colours which are :

Skin: E000,E00,E21,E11,E04 R20
Hair : E18, E13, YR23, Y21
Scarf & Mittens :BG02,BG05,BG07,BG09

CUP- W00, N2, E13, E18
Sweater - YR14,YR23, YR21

(E13 is being used as a substitute for the darker E15, as I'm awaiting a refill for that particular pen)

Thank you for looking, and reading,

new release -september @karleigh sue

Hi there everyone, it is new release day over at karleigh sue! and there are some amazing images as usual to play with!
I've worked with 'ouch that stings' this time round which is a cute pin up in a bee costume..
I made a plaque this time round as I wanted to do something other than a card for once. it was a little out of my comfort zone, but I'm really happy with the results!

I used copics to colour the image, then fussy cut her, and covered her in deco art triple thick

whilst she was drying, i covered a plaque with a sheet from the bohenian bazaar 8x8 pad from G45,
and on top of that i layered a honeycomb pattern cut from kraft card on my electronic cutter. some of the negative space I filled with gold glitter, which i encapsulated with more triple thick.
I computer generated the wording, printed, doodled and sealed with yet more triple thick before gluing down, and added  cute little MDF bee shape.
i glued down 'ouch it stings' amd finished off the plaque by adding a wire to hang it with and a little orange bow.

you will be able to find this and the other new images in the Karleigh Sue Sellfy Store
and you can see the other designers work with the new images over on the karleigh sue inspiration blog

there is also just under a week left on the current 'ribbon and or flowers' themed challenge
if you want to grab one of the new images and play along, with digi prizes for the winner and top three!
