Vintage butterfly card - monochrome with a splash of colour

Hello there! as well as my DT make today I have something completely non related- a card I made because I had a parcel arrive with some new goodies in- and I set myself the challenge of using most of them all on one card :)

to make this card i used -
6x6 inch card blank
dovecraft back to basics 6x6 monochrome paper
black lace
pearl droplet strand
Samaflora flowers which you can purchase here
joycrafts postcard stamp (with butterfly)
glossy accents
heat it up embossing powders in pearl and black
Tim Holtz crackle paint in picket fence
memento tuxedo black ink
half pearls -3mm
cut files from birds cards - swirly corners and decorative frame 1

I hope you like it... I really love the touch of colour as the butterfly flies off the postcard, and everything else being monochrome!

New Challenge at PunkYouGirl Challenge blog- #13 steamy/sexy sponsored by stitchy bear

Hello there, it is time for a new challenge at PunkYouGirl!
the theme this month is 'Steamy/sexy ' sponsored by stitchy bear digi outlet
and I am using Ike's art - miss Whiplash

I made an easel card using a 7 inch card blank, and a couple of  hearts cut on my scan n cut
I added eyelets to the cut down pieces of heart shaped paper and put some black ribbon through them emulating corsetting, I then turned it over and added lace to the back of the heart using my hot glue gun
(the paper is sew lovely by papermania)
I added a floral bexley black capsule paper to a black matt for the triangular upright of the easel, then glued the heart in place. I coloured the image and added her to the right hand side.

I added two matted pieces of paper to the bottom square of the easel and a half pearl stopper.

allotment Box card featuring image from The East Wind

Hello there! this month , subscribers to The East Wind's digital image newsletters got a lovely freebie to play with - Gardening Aurora.
There is also a new challenge up on the blog - embossing- So I decided to combine the two and make this allotment themed pop up box card...

I coloured the image with copics and promarkers, and used kraft card, coredinations cardstock, and madame payrauds paper from papermania to make the pop up box - I also cut earthy hillocks from kraft card and darkened them with vintage photo distress ink, for soil, hand cut some grass and sprouts, and used Birds Cards branches 2 SVG cuts as shoots springing out of the soil too.
I also stamped butterfly, dragonfly, floral flourish and daisy head indigo blu stamps onto the paper, -the sentiment was added digitally until I can decide what I will actually be using this box card for!

Here Comes Summer! new challenge up at Just For Fun!

Hello everyone! it is officially June , it is amazing how quickly the time has gone this year! I will have been crafting this month for a whole year now... my first ever card went out for my mum's birthday on the 15th an entire year ago!

Today brings a new challenge at Just For Fun - the theme this month is 'Here comes Summer' so we would love to see all your summery makes showcasing just what you do!

My Design team make for this challenge Is definitely bright and Sunny- I have used Beachy Mae - by Some Odd Girl and the appropriate sentiment 'Sending you Sunshine' as well.

Card Created By Rachel Gillham

I used a piece of Yellow coredinations cardstock for the matts in this card as what says summer more than summery yellow? and I chose some lovely papers to go alongside it too- one with a bright floral pattern that has been in my stash for absolutely ages and two in soft blues from Craft Creations .
The image 'Beachy mae' I coloured using a mixture of copics and promarkers - e000,e00, e21,e11, e04 and r20 for the skin, blues were BG 2,5,7 and 9 , the pinks were Hot pink, Magenta and Crimson promarkers.

To put the card together, I created two small 10cm squares of the floral papers which i matted with the yellow, one large of the blue toned paper matted on yellow,
the two squares I placed at the corners leaving a gap and they overlap in the middle hidden by the stamped layer.
for the image I cut her in a long thin rectangle and matted the image on yet more yellow, faux stitched around the edge using a micron marker pen, adding rivets to the left bottom and top corners. I then threaded twine in a bluey green through several times and added a hand tied bow of the same to finish it off.
I put the image layer at a slight angle to make it quirkier , then added some splats of Prima Bloom spray -soft teal to the card (rather carefully!).
It still needed something extra so I made the corner pieces from matted spotty blue papers with faux stitching, and added the pearls as well as they added a shiny fun hint :)

I do hope you like her, and I hope to see you joining in on this challenge!
