happy sunday! sweet birthday card

Happy sunday everyone, and today I have a sweet birthday card to show you using the gorgeous 'Cute in Glasses' from Chi Chi Memories

I used cute in glasses for this deliciously pink 8" card, with a mix of digi papers by Lilian Ellaboudy and papers and pink cardstock from my craft cupboard. I used a joanna sheen signature die for the BUNTING and a MFT flower die for the cute flowers framing the image.. the waste from the bunting die became the embellies at the corners of the card... and I also used my favourite Bo Bunny sentiment

The image is coloured in copics and promarkers .

I hope you think she is sweet! I certainly do.

have a good sunday everyone!

at the beach...

Hello there everyone! today's inspiration for the Chi Chi Memories Blog  is a cute teddy bear card with a twist!
I have used a stamp from the Beach Time set to create this card.

now for the something different- the backing to this image is actually a photograph taken in colwyn bay in Wales the other week whilst I was away. I used GIMP editing software to add the .PNG bear file as a layer to the photograph and size it as required. I then printed off and coloured the bear veeeery carefully.
I used orange and blue cardstock and anitas crab shack papers and some sizzix photo corner die cuts. i kept the card fairly plain as I wanted the image to be the main focus. I hope you like the card and the results of my being adventurous!

please do go and check out the CCM blog for everyone elses inspiration this week, there are as ever some fantastic creations!

if the shoe fits.....

hello there and happy Sunday everyone!
this is the first of two posts today- and this one is a card made using the image 'Mad About Shoes' from The Paper Shelter- it is the first time I have had a play with one of their images and I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to find them!

a friend and customer of mine also recently brought me a big box full of papers and a few other bits, and I have been busy creating cards out of the goodies she brought me...and some other new bits from Craftie Charlie
so a big thanks to them and to Deborah of Little Roo's creations

I coloured the super cute image using copics and promarkers, and then inked with Tim Holtz tea stain distress ink. I also used stampendous embossing enamel (frantage) in shabby white and vintage rose, and I then gently distressed the edges.
all the mats are in a pale pink claire fontaine cardstock, and the papers as I said before were recently donated to me!
I also  used some cotton lace that I bought a while ago from a shop that has now sadly stopped trading , chipboard stickers, a bo bunny sentiment stamp from craftie charlie, liquid pearls in white opal, MFT flower dies also from  Craftie Charlie , gold stamens and a sizzix labels die .

all the layers have been inked and distressed and I love the effect!

I would like to enter this card in -

I also used -
raffia twine
a button
pewter half pearls
sizzix nestable dies
tim holtz distress ink in tea dye
copics
promarkers
glossy accents

I hope you love this masculine card as much as I do!

bookmark!

I'm sneaking in with a bit of late evening crafting !
I just made a cute little bookmark using Casual Day from Chi Chi memories...

I coloured the skin and hair using copics and the pink jumpsuit and accessories are coloured using promarkers.. one day I will buy enough copics to replace the colours I still only have in promarkers... I promise!
the background was created using diagonally striped papers, washi tape and a hot pink pen. I wanted to go for the hip slightly rebellious girl look, so I scrawled <3 my book on freehand,  and some hearts stars and smilies!
I backed the paper onto blue cardstock , and punched a hole for the ribbon- I used 10 mm pink grosgrain
I think she is a little bit of fun :)

Clean and simple! Get well my friend, from Chi Chi memories

hello there everyone and it is time for my weekly post for the wonderful team over at Chi Chi Memories... I only just got back home last night after a couple of days away at the welsh seaside, which was a break, but I am already back at the work station creating more cards!

This weeks project for CCM , I went the clean and simple route, so there isn't a whole lot of ingredients to list! it was a big test to me as I kept wanting to add more- and kind of felt like a cheapskate submitting something so simple as a project at first- but i really think it works and showcases the image beautifully! the image is 'take care my friend'

for this card I simply used white cardstock, copics, promarkers ,some pink bakers twine and three green half pearls! the digital sentiment is from HERE at Digital delights by Louby Lou!

in addition to this weeks card for the main CCM blog, I have another project to show you- this time for the monthly CHALLENGE!  this is the sketch challenge run at chi chi memories every month with a limited freebie !
this months image is called 'Hello Princess'
and I mae an A5 card following the sketch provided for you to play along with!

the papers are from my big pile of papers and the die cut is a spellbinders lacey circle- one I use quite a lot. the sentiment stamp is from LOTV and the dark blue papers are from anna marie designs

I hope to see you coming and playing along with the challenge, and if you are quick you may still be able to grab the image for free!

PunkYouGirl challenge blog

Hello there. this week I am saying goodbye to PunkYouGirl Challenge blog , this is my last project for them, and the theme this month is an anything goes theme... when i originally mae this there was another theme set so I will still leave you details of what inspired me to make this card as the theme was originally going to be 'inspired by a song' for this piece
The Image I have used is from the artist B.B. kakes at Stitchy bear stamps outlet , that I won when I was placed in a challenge a while ago.

The song I have used as my inspiration is The Death of the cog- the inventors daughter a rather interesting steampunk song I found in my late night wanderings of the weird and wonderful online.

ingredients-
copics
promarkers
tim holtz cog embossing folder
spellbinders cog dies - with centres removed with a sizzix circle die
black cardstock
tim holtz distress ink- vintage photo
tim holtz crackle paint - picket fence
copper embossing powder
copper cardstock
pewter half pearls
papermania papers

I hope you like this steampunkesque make!

August releases over at Chi Chi Memories!

Hello there- this week I created a little card using 'I am Bookworm' from the gorgeous Chi Chi Memories!

To make this card I used my copics to colour up the gorgeous Bookworm image, and added glossy accents to her glasses.. I backed her onto a circular die cut which i had stamped with my much loved PSX background stamp - I stamped using Tim Holtz tea stain distress ink.that in turn was placed onto a spellbinders lacy circles die cut in purple coredinations cardstock.  I also antiqued a dovecraft paper using the same distress ink , rounded the corners and distressed the edges. I did the same to the matt beneath - which is a rusty red coredinations cardstock.

I added two hand cut pennants under the image layer and added a little card candi to finish the card. isn't she so cute and sweet?

EDIT: for some reason this did not post and I only just noticed...a day later!

so here she is!

Friday 8 August 2014

my 100th post! and for it, I'm bringing you a tiddly inks christmas!

Hello  there everyone!
today I have made a Christmas card using the stamps that dropped through my door this morning from Quick cards made easy and Tiddly inks Stamps.. they really are mega cute and I was so excited to finally play with some T.I clear stamps!
the issue number for the magazine is 130 and it should be in the shops soon or you can always find it online.... I have to admit I went straight for the stamps, discarding the magazine until later....

without further ado I dug out all my christmas crafting bits and bobs and a few other pieces, and I made this 7" square card

To make this card I used a variety of materials-

copics e000 , e00, e21 ,e11, e04, r20 , e29 and 25
BG 7, BG 5, BG 000, an YR 23
promarkers- black, cool grey 5 ,4,3,1
burgundy, cardinal, crimson, moss, pear and lime
I stamped the clear stamp onto super smooth white cardstock from 'that craft place' using memento ink.

I also used snowflake shaped brads
8x8 and 6x6 papers from my pile
coredinations cardstock in a light lilac
'JOY' and snowflake plastic embellishments
white gel pen for faux stitching
Liquid pearls in white opal
stampendous frantage - shabby white for snow effect
and christine hellmuth studio gesso
and  finally 3D foam pads to pop the image and hand cut pennants off the page.

I hope you enjoy this sweet card, and enjoy the rest of your day!

August new releases over at Chi Chi Memories!

hi there! today I have two new cards to show you both using this months new releases over at Chi Chi Memories! as ever Nathalie has outdone herself with these cuties!

the first is using HipHop Girl
I made this card using :
pink and star patterned papers
black cardstock
die cut button
twine
die cut  musical notes coloured to match colours in image
blue spotty paper pennant made using an offcut
image coloured using copics and promarkers

this little cutie is so fab and fresh , perfect for anyone out there that loves a bit of hip hop or even fans of movies like 'save the last dance'! i chose to colour her hair  with my favourite BG copics  to make her even funkier...

the second card I have to show you today was an extra project as some of the DT are currently away from home, so I chose to make a travel themed card with another of the new releases. this one is called ' let's travel' . on this one i went for a more subtle colour scheme to match the travel themed paper and found a quote online to use as the sentiment. I kept this card free of additional embellishments as i loved the backing paper with the image and sentiment so much I didn't want to cover up too much of it!

to make this card I used copics, a touch of liquid pearls as the flower centre,
a nautical map themed paper and a computer generated sentiment
also some black cardstock for matting.

I hope you like these cards made with the new releases and keep your eyes peeled for another next week!
