Simply Betty Stamps- Monsterific Ali challenge

There is an awesome challenge running at the moment in the Simply Betty Stamps Fan group on Facebook using the fantastic Monsterific Ali Digi... if you play along you can grab her for a dollar!
the recipe for the challenge is anything but a square and the colours orange, lime green and purple- so I made this card :

to make the card I used my Sizzix circle dies, and a spellbinders lacy circle - the purple circles were made drawing round the outside of one of the circle dies to make  a circle in between the two die sizes.
I used digi papers from my stash and orange card, also some purple coredinations cardstock.
the skin and hair on the image are copics, and the rest are promarkers.

I also used orange gems to add some sparkle!

other than the simply B challenge I would love to enter this card in:

Superhero day at Crafty Little Creations!

Hi there everyone!
I have ben having a bit of a superhero day at Crafty little creations HQ , which all started with me wanting to make something for the Tiddly Inks Sketch a lou challenge,
so for that I bought My Batty Hero from the tiddly inks store, and made this :
this one is an 8 inch square card using DCVW papers , a large tag, and stars cut using a punch from washi tape (backed onto baking paper)

I used this sketch as per the challenge rules to create my card :

I was having so much fun, I didn't stop there, and have also created another card using the 'my batty hero' image
this one also uses the DCVW papers used in the first card - as I hate waste I wanted to use up as much of it as I could!

then finally , I made another one, this time using a FEMALE superhero image from Simply B Stamps -

this time, the patterned paper was from Jazzy Images on Etsy - one of a collection of superhero papers!

hope you like these cards.. i had a great time making them!

third and final new release this month over at Chi Chi Memories!

Hello there! this is a slightly different Design team  make for me today using 'casual day' from Chi Chi Memories !
I have a lot to organise for design team work and was fed up of all the information being all over the place, so recently I bought myself an A4 ring binder, plastic pockets, and some dividers... even though the folder itself was pretty and pink it looks pretty boring and needed something doing to it!
I started with my Chi Chi Memories section of the folder , and decided to alter the boring plain purple divider... and changed it into this :

I think 'casual day' girl looks really cool and pops out from the page!

To make this I used -
1x ring binder divider
washi tape in 4 different patterns
fabric tape sentiment 'sweetheart' from smirk
a funky brad
4 half pearls
3 foam filled fabric flowers with gem centres
green and white bakers twine
purple paper
purple spotted paper
park life bird / squared DSP
flower print paper
glitter glue
prima bloom mica mist sprays in soft teal and candyfloss
copics and promarkers

I can't exactly tell you the process I went through to make this as I just let loose and had fun!

I hope you like it though, and I can't wait to get altering the rest of my dividers and even the front of the folder too!

Another new release over at Chi Chi Memories! 'good day'

Hello, I have another suuuper cute card for you today using one of the new releases over at chi chi memories this one is 'Good day'

first off I want to thank  the lovely Faye for letting me browse her cards for inspiration- I wanted to try a more CAS layout for this card, but I was coming up empty... after a quick peek, I came up with something I was sure would look awesome- the card above!

I coloured this image using a mixture of copics and promarkers, and it is my first ever attempt at frizzy 'afro' style hair- I'm quite pleased with how it looks.

After colouring, i added some highlights using a white gel pen, then set to with my glossy accents- i covered all the balloons to make them shiny like real balloons, and her hair bobbles, eyes, and boots.

I fussy cut the image out once dried, and cut a smaller rectangle of white card to attach her onto- purposely making it thinner than the image so the balloons were off the edge. I drew round the outside of the rectangle with my micron pen, added a couple of stripes of grey pro marker to the area where she'd be standing to 'ground' the image, and then attached her on with 3d foam pads.

I made a  tent folded blank out of a black piece of card stock 12 inches x 4.5 inches, and added a layer of purple coredinations card stock to it. i then added a piece of park life DSP on top of that, and cut a strip of black and purple card stock to go across the width of the card. the purple strip was embossed with a flower and swirl embossing folder I've had ages (yet never used)
and added on top of the black. i wrapped some yellow bakers twine around this strip and tied in a bow on the left. I added on top of the floral paper, then popped the image on its Matt on top- again with 3d foam pads
finally (on the front anyway) I added three heart shaped gems in the bottom right.

on the inside i matted in purple again, and then used a piece of the DSP i used on the front - but used the reverse this time. i also added a white card stock rectangle for the message to be written in, and edged this like i had done with the rectangle on the front. for cohesiveness, I added another 3 little hearts to the inner.

I hope you like her..i think she is very sweet!

Left Of Center Challenges 'at the movies' Ikes art and The Stamping Chef

Hello there! today's card is mid point  DT inspiration for Left Of Center Challenges
this challenge is sponsored by Ike's art and The Stamping chef.
The challenge theme is - 'At the Movies'...
so today I have for you Snow White ..

I made the card bright and eyecatching, bringing the colours from the image into the paper- i know others choose the paper then colour the image, but that isn't how I work!
I used copics to colour Ella Lovely from TSC and the other papers are from various companies including bo bunny, coredinations, and craft creations. I also used  die cuts to make swirly corners for the image and a 1 inch wide piece of red ribbon to make a big bow which I added a dazzler to, half pearls, sparkles and a star shaped paperclip for a truly girly make. I hope she screams Snow White to you!

Fathers day card

because my husband rarely goes anywhere near the sites I do - card making seems to scare him a little, and don't get me started on his loathing and distrust of facebook! I can show you all the card I have made for him on behalf of my five year old and two and a half year old just in case they forget to bring the ones they have made home in time!

I made this card using the Spellbinders venetian motifs dies - I cut two of the largest 'label' one in black and one in white and then wove them together using the little 'hands' .for the sentiment I used a LOTV sentiment stamp, and cut it out with a circular die  from a sizzix flip its card set.
The diamonds in the corners are the waste from the large labels. I used little half pearls in pewter inside the corners too.

I hope you like it- it is the first card I have made that is mostly die cuts !

Tiddly Inks Back to School take 2...

Hello there!
today I have something amazing (I think so anyway) to see, and a new card hot off the press- Alyce at Kit and Clowder (website HERE) is holding a competition at the moment, getting us all to put our progress pics up to show how we have improved colouring wise -  you can win some fab prizes so go and check out the webpage
also, check out the facebook group Kit And Clowder as there may be some fun when there's 2000 members- not far away now!
so today I have created a new Teacher Card using Tiddly inks back to school, which is one of the very first images I owned and coloured back in September 2013- and is right at the beginning of my blog

So here is my new card :

this is coloured using copics for the skin and hair, hat and books, and promarkers for everything else!

and here is my throwback tuesday pic with todays for comparison-

wow can't you just see the difference?
I know I have a fair way to go yet as I have been so utterly bogged down with 'life' and 'stuff' right now I have not made it into the classroom in sometime... so when I actually have a chance to do some more studying, I think she will look even more ace!

thanks for looking guys!

Chi Chi Memories New Release! SUPER CUTE ' princess Snowy'

Hi there! this is my first piece of work for the fantastic Digi Company Chi Chi Memories (CCM)
I am Really looking forward to my time spent here as they are such super cute images to work with...
They also run a monthly challenge on the CCM blog starting on the 15th with a free image (but you have to be quick, it is free for the first 30 downloads only)

so today, I have a NEW RELEASE image for you!
'Snowy'

To make this card I have used the following -
8x8 inch scalloped card blanks
dovecraft bakers twine in green/white
Washi tape from Moon Stick Supplies
Beautiful blue cotton lace from TillyFlops Creations
LOTV birthday sentiment stamp
pink diamantes
Ranger Glossy Accents
Sizzix flip its card dies (stitching hole circle and scalloped circle)
Blue Coredinations cardstock
That Craft Place's 300gsm alcohol marker super smooth white card
Papermania papers - bexley black and sew lovely
black 170 gsm card
Stickles Cotton Candy
SU not quite navy ink
Peacock Blue Distress ink
We R Memory Keepers crop a dile corner chomper  1/2 " setting
Copics - BG000, 02,05,07,09
E000,00,21,11,04,R20
Promarkers -burgundy, cardinal, crimson, black, cool grey 5,4,3
White gel pen (for eye highlights)

I made this card cute and girly, sticking with a predominently blue scheme to tie in with how I had coloured the image.
I coloured the image using a mixture of copics and promarkers as I am still building up my copic collection- I worked with promarkers for almost a year before deciding to change, as I found a brush nib worked better for me!

I used the technique of 'pointillism' around the image and I also added glossy accents to make her eyes shine , and to make her shoes seem patent (i love patent leather)
I then matted onto the coredinations cardstock.

I created another matt out of the same sheet of coredinations at 19cm square, and rounded the corners using my corner chomper- this provided the first matt to go onto the card blank. I then cut the bexley black paper at 18.5 cm square and rounded the corners on that too, then adhered to the blue matt.
I cut a rectangle of black card and matted the sew lovely paper onto it, and set aside. I also then cut a strip of black, blue, and the paper again to provide the bottom strip. once I had adhered those together i ran a strip of washi down the centre, flipped over and added the lace using silicone glue. I glued down the second paper layer, and the image layers overlapping slightly, then the bottom strip, just under the shoes.
I then cut the scalloped circle, stamped the LOTV sentiment and cut that out using the stitch hole circle...glued them together and added diamantes. that was then glued to the base strip.
to finish off, i added more diamantes to the corners, assembled some 'bunting' using twine and washi tape, and added a dot of stickles to each scallop.

I do hope you love her!

New Challenge at PunkYouGirl Challenge blog- #13 steamy/sexy sponsored by stitchy bear

Hello there, it is time for a new challenge at PunkYouGirl!
the theme this month is 'Steamy/sexy ' sponsored by stitchy bear digi outlet
and I am using Ike's art - miss Whiplash

I made an easel card using a 7 inch card blank, and a couple of  hearts cut on my scan n cut
I added eyelets to the cut down pieces of heart shaped paper and put some black ribbon through them emulating corsetting, I then turned it over and added lace to the back of the heart using my hot glue gun
(the paper is sew lovely by papermania)
I added a floral bexley black capsule paper to a black matt for the triangular upright of the easel, then glued the heart in place. I coloured the image and added her to the right hand side.

I added two matted pieces of paper to the bottom square of the easel and a half pearl stopper.

allotment Box card featuring image from The East Wind

Hello there! this month , subscribers to The East Wind's digital image newsletters got a lovely freebie to play with - Gardening Aurora.
There is also a new challenge up on the blog - embossing- So I decided to combine the two and make this allotment themed pop up box card...

I coloured the image with copics and promarkers, and used kraft card, coredinations cardstock, and madame payrauds paper from papermania to make the pop up box - I also cut earthy hillocks from kraft card and darkened them with vintage photo distress ink, for soil, hand cut some grass and sprouts, and used Birds Cards branches 2 SVG cuts as shoots springing out of the soil too.
I also stamped butterfly, dragonfly, floral flourish and daisy head indigo blu stamps onto the paper, -the sentiment was added digitally until I can decide what I will actually be using this box card for!

Here Comes Summer! new challenge up at Just For Fun!

Hello everyone! it is officially June , it is amazing how quickly the time has gone this year! I will have been crafting this month for a whole year now... my first ever card went out for my mum's birthday on the 15th an entire year ago!

Today brings a new challenge at Just For Fun - the theme this month is 'Here comes Summer' so we would love to see all your summery makes showcasing just what you do!

My Design team make for this challenge Is definitely bright and Sunny- I have used Beachy Mae - by Some Odd Girl and the appropriate sentiment 'Sending you Sunshine' as well.

Images © Kristy Dalman for SomeOddGirl.com.
Card Created By Rachel Gillham

I used a piece of Yellow coredinations cardstock for the matts in this card as what says summer more than summery yellow? and I chose some lovely papers to go alongside it too- one with a bright floral pattern that has been in my stash for absolutely ages and two in soft blues from Craft Creations .
The image 'Beachy mae' I coloured using a mixture of copics and promarkers - e000,e00, e21,e11, e04 and r20 for the skin, blues were BG 2,5,7 and 9 , the pinks were Hot pink, Magenta and Crimson promarkers.

To put the card together, I created two small 10cm squares of the floral papers which i matted with the yellow, one large of the blue toned paper matted on yellow,
the two squares I placed at the corners leaving a gap and they overlap in the middle hidden by the stamped layer.
for the image I cut her in a long thin rectangle and matted the image on yet more yellow, faux stitched around the edge using a micron marker pen, adding rivets to the left bottom and top corners. I then threaded twine in a bluey green through several times and added a hand tied bow of the same to finish it off.
I put the image layer at a slight angle to make it quirkier , then added some splats of Prima Bloom spray -soft teal to the card (rather carefully!).
It still needed something extra so I made the corner pieces from matted spotty blue papers with faux stitching, and added the pearls as well as they added a shiny fun hint :)

I do hope you like her, and I hope to see you joining in on this challenge!
