Midway reminder for Left Of center Challenges 'Girly' challenge sponsored by Sassy Studios and The East Wind

Hello there, today's 'Girly' card I have made for you is  lot darker than the last one I made, but is still girly (I hope)

This time I used The East Wind's 'Lucy Loo, blow the skull kiss' for the midway reminder at Left of Center Challenges

I have been rediscovering my love of easel cards recently, so this one is a twisted easel
they are so simple to make yet really effective, I think!
I've also been stepping away from the norm by not adding a square of card to the folded over triangle, instead I have been going off the edge and creating a different look...
this one uses three identically sied rectangles, two with papers from the madame payrauds paper pack, (and yes, i carefully made sure the arsenic advert was fully visible!)
and one with the image on (image coloured in promarkers and copics)
these all overlap and are attached to the back triangle, which has a black matt then a spotty paper from the bexley black capsule paper collection at papermania.

the easel 'base' uses the same brands of papers , but I used a different spotty paper
I also used some bright pink gems, some black ribbon, some kiss print ribbon, and a purple sequinned bow as the stopper.... the sentiment was me being in a silly mood, and i hope it worked :D

La La Land Singing Marci and Samaflora Flowers

I had the wonderful chance to play with the wonderful La La Land 'Singing Marci' Recently for a challenge over at Kit and Clowder website .. I loved her so much that I coloured her up again today for my DT project for samaflora

I am rather new to this type of card and am still doing a lot of make do work- I substituted an embossing pen and embossing powders in white, pearl and copper for frantage... it doesn't give exactly the look I was going for, but I am still quite pleased with it!
I coloured the image in copics and my black, cool grey 5,4 and 3 promarkers. I then used the embossing pen to add random dots around the outside and repeated with each colour of embosing powder. I then used a paintbrush to add distress ink in vintage photo. I finished up with my gold contour glass paint! I cut a similar size rectangle from papermania oyster blush paper and added that at an angle behind it, distressing the edges. underneath those layers is a thinner rectangle also in the oyster blush papers , with a strip of pale pink lace underneath and some cotton lace from TillyFlops Creations (also on facebook under the same name)
I added the sentiment supplied with the image over the bottom right corner, and added a leafy swirl and a vintage style key charm.
to the left of the image and slightly under it i added half a paper doily, and then got to work with my flowers... I used a hand stamped script  rose, two vellum roses , one green and one blue, three blossoms, three wired buds, and four miniature roses - all flowers currently available from Samaflora are to be found in the albums on the page :)

I also added in a little resin cameo, a die cut heart and a large ivory satin bow with two oversize hatpins to the top right corner. I really hope you like what I have done today...and hopefully I will pick up some frantage and other bits and pieces soon!

Another Male Card- KennyK 'Anime Soccer'

Hello again, I have made another male card whilst my mojo was on form!
this time , using Kenny K's anime soccer

sorry for the poor quality picture, the light is not fantastic in my house during the evenings- but I am out all day tomorrow, so I couldn't wait to upload it!

The image is coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers (skin , trainers and hair done with copics)
and I used the technique 'pointillism' to edge the image.
the brightly coloured chequered paper is DCWV , the spotted and black chequered paper are papermania and the blue one is an offcut of a piece I have had for so long I don't remember the brand!
the sentiment is from birds cards, and I have backed it with a spellbinders lacy circles die cut.
the gold dots in the corners and the arrows on the black and white paper are, oddly enough gold contour glass paint....
the black photo corner die cuts are a sizzix die.

hope you think he looks awesome!

for a teenager - Video Boy by Mo Manning

Heeeelllllooooo! today I have created a card for the older (teenage) boy. I'm not one for male cards very often but I got the compulsion to make this one today to counteract all the cute girly cards I have been making!
The image is video boy by Mo Manning of Mo's Digital pencil and is an image I love to use on male cards (as I said before...when I do them!)

The papers are DCVW 'all about boys' which is one of my favourite stacks , and the image is coloured using a mixture of copics and promarkers.
the corners are sizzix green die photo corners , the brads are from Basic Grey and the stars are papermania bexley black papers cut on my scan n cut. the blue matting layers are anamarie designs blueprint sparkle paper.

Left Of Center Challenges ; Challenge # 32: May 23rd Sassy Studio and The East Wind - Girly

Hello! today I have created something girly as inspiration for the current 'Girly'  challenge running at Left Of Center Challenges

The sponsors for this challenge are :

This card is made using Jessica Rabbit Sassy

Ingredients :
copics e000,e00,e21,e11,e04, R20
Promarkers - black, cool grey 5,4 ,burgundy, cardinal, crimson
pink 10mm grossgrain ribbon
red diamante gems
black gems
black lace
purple damask paper
Black onyx sparkle 12x12 card annamarie designs
(though mine is the clear stamp from issue 123 simply cards and papercraft
Scan n cut
Birds cards - heart easel card cut file
memento tuxedo black ink pad

I made the card blank using a birds cards file for a heart easel card, this was cut on my Scan 'n'Cut
The paper was cut to shape on the scan n cut as well, and i then stamped the edge of it with the beautiful pattern  you see- this is actually the tips of the hair on the 'Juliet' stamp by indigoblu that I got with a magazine recently.
I then very gently distressed the edges of the paper, and stuck it down to the easel card blank.
I threaded the pink ribbon through part of the latticework, and added red gems, then added the coloured up iage to the centre of the top heart.

I printed out my sentiment which is a quote from who framed roger rabbit, and matted that onto the same purple paper i had used in the rest of the card, with a strip of black cardstock underneath. I cut this to fit across the heart, and added a strip of black lace either side. I also added a strip of double sided foam tape on the underside. back up on the tp side, i added teeny tiny black gems around the sentiment. I then flipped the whole thing over and added lace to the bottom of the bottom heart, then snipped little snips at intervals. where these snips met the card, i placed little red gems. I then finally attached the stopper, and voila, one va va voom Jessica rabbit Card
now I have used it for the purpose created, I am going to give it away to one of the likers over on my facebook Page . If you would like to win it, please drop by and say hello :)

please DO join us at Left of centre with your girly makes! we would love to see them all! and don't forget to join us for the midway inspiration next week, when I will have something else for you!

a little bit of sentiment

I'm popping in this evening to show you the card I have just finished - this card uses one of  the freebie indigo Blu stamps from Simply Cards and Papercraft issue 123 which I purchased today in town.

Other ingredients ;
Spellbinders lacy circle die
sizzix circle #2 die
papermania bexley black capsule papers
Annamarie Designs blueprint papers
Annamarie designs pearlescent card
green half pearls
Branches 1 SVG file cuts from Birds Cards
Flowers from Samaflora ( blossom, tiny rose, stemmed rose, pearl cenre rolled rose)
Tim Holtz distress ink - Broken China
Heat it up! embossing powder - blue glass
Black Ribbon
6 inch square card blank also from Annamarie Designs

to make this card I stamped the sentiment in clear embossing ink onto stamping card and heat embossed using heat it up powder, I then cut out on my Big Shot using one of the circles #2 dies, and inked around the edge. I matted onto a spellbinders lacy circle cut out of pearlescent cardstock.

I assembled the card base by matting a 14 cm square dotted paper which i had pre distressed with a paper distresser and inked in broken china ink onto a 14.3cm square blue paper, and attaching a black ribbon strip down the centre. This was all attached to the card blank.
I attached the matted sentiment on top of the ribbon , just under half way down the card, centrally.

I then laid out my branches and flowers and took a photograph once I was happy to refer to, and stuck them down with silicone glue, round the bottom left edge of the circle, making sure the sentiment could still be seen clearly.

To finish up, I added a hand tied ribbon bow to the top, and four green half pearls at the corners.

I hope you love it- The sentiment of this stamp I think is beautiful, and I love how the flowers look around it.

Left Of Centre challenge blog # 31 'for a male' DT inspiration midway reminder sponsored by Dilly beans and Ike's art

Hello, and how are you? today I have for you  a card created using Ikes art - annabel Lee 2 made as design team inspiration or the current 'for a male ' card challenge at http://leftofcenterchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/  - it would be lovely to see you joining in and linking up your gorgeous makes!

This card was great fun to make, using a few of my more recent crafting 'toys' that I have purchased... !

I used my new copics to colour the image , using E000, E00, E21 , E11, and R20 as blush and areola
and BG 02, BG 05, BG 07, and BG 09 for the hair

I fussy cut the image after colouring and backed it on another piece of white stamping cardstock that i had distressed with my new distress ink pad from Tim Holtz- the very pretty 'peacock feathers'
and then matted that onto a turquoise piece of coredinations.

I used a 6x6 inch card blank and decided to seperate the layers so there was a gap between the two, so layered a grey green coredinations , bronze paper and my hand made backing paper -
this was made by using a plastic folder pocket , onto which i added peacock feather ink from my ink pad, a stripe of vintage photo distress stain, and a squirt of docrafts 'glitz it' pearlescent glue.... i spritzed with water and dragged the paper through it, then spritzed again with a soft teal prima bloom spray (also new) and set with my heat tool... i then finally added some more vintage photo dots with my dabber, and heated dry again.
as finishing touches i wrapped some twine several times around the thinner matted layer and made a fork tied bow for it also out of twine , then coloured some white and silver and white and gold card candi with one of my BG copics to fit in with the other colours used

Hope you like her, even though she is a little racy ;)

Things With Wings at PunkYouGirl - New Challenge! Design team inspiration piece

Hello! Time for a new challenge at PunkYouGirl challenge blog sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps

My piece today uses Delicious Doodles 'Ivy Fairy' from the Stitchy Bear outlet , a lovely Digi , and I just love the look on her face! I do have to apologise to those of you that may have seen this briefly before, I managed to upload at the wrong marker point, and had to send this post back to the naughty corner once I had realised! however, I can reveal all now...

I had lots of fun making this, and tried out some new things!

It would be lovely to see you all joining in with us in this current challenge, with all your things with wings makes!

I used cardstock in black, purple bazzil embossed card, blueprint paper from AMD , and gorjuss papers to create the card front, the card blank was also from AMD.

the delicious doodles image is coloured in using promarkers , then the image background is watercolours that I applied veeeery carefully around the image.

I used my Scan 'n' Cut to create the leaf strip and the frame around the image. these were built in designs on the machine.
I matted each paper with black and rotated the final layer as I hate everything being straight and too organised (on my cards anyway.. life won't comply, no matter what I do to it!)
I then added the purple strip and leaf strip before adding the image with 3d foam pads underneath to make it pop slightly from the rest of the layers. as a final touch, I added a few little green diamantés around the frame, and little black gems at the edges of the green and purple papers

Hope You like it and I hope to see you at this latest challenge!

Rachel

Sweet, bright and fairly simple!

This card I am putting up this morning is one of three posts from me today, so keep your eyes peeled! this one is a totally non Design team piece, and for the main reason that when I saw this Digi from Tiddly inks 'Charles' Tulips' I just had to have it- my husband is a gardener and unbeknownst to most who call him by his middle or nick name, his name is Charles!

I also wanted to start thinking about doing more male cards as I find them far trickier than feminine ones, and thought this would be a good one to do :)

To make this card I used a 6x6 card blank, some yellow coredinations card, promarkers, copics (still in that awkward stage of trying to gain copics and try to cut down the promarkers - personal choice but I really do prefer the way copics handle and look on the card!
on top of the first yellow matt, I cut three strips of funky paper I had kicking around that seemed cheerful without being OTT and too bold... I then layed them all down and faux stitched between and around the edges of them to make the background (all with my micron pen)
The image once coloured up was matted onto a piece of black onyx cardstock, and faux stitched around too, before cutting a couple of cheeky little yellow corners to add.
I grabbed my Scan N cut and cut the letters 'DAD' at an inch high, these also (shock horror) were faux stitched and attached to the background with 3d foam pads (cut in half to make them fit)
and then I finally finished up with three twined buttons along the right , glued down with silicone 'Stick it' Glue.

I hope you enjoy this make, and keep your eyes peeled for the other posts that will be up later today!

vintage style decoupage dressform card with pretty butterflies

Good morning everyone.. finally a new make up for you to peruse, if you wish to do so!
I made a big whoops when I bought my copics- I didn't buy a refill at the same time for the one I was using most of! so no colouring for me until it arrives, as my E000 is certified empty :(
therefore as I couldn't just not make anything, I have made a pretty shabby vintage style card using part of a pack of the papermania Bellisima  A4 decoupage pack and a couple of little extras from my stash that I thought really suited the image.

I started with an 8x8 card blank from annamarie designs in a lovely twinkly pearlescent card, and then trimmed a piece of the gorgeous backing paper from the decoupage pack down to give a border.... I distressed the edges and used my Tim holtz peacock feathers distress ink to add a little splash of colour on the edges. I then cut a smaller piece of the butterfly paper, and made the bottom cut at a slight angle- this also was distressed, corners furled, inked and I attached a piece of lace behind it to peek out.
I then assembled the decoupage piece, using 3D foam pads, and inked around the edges of the base oval with peacock feathers to tie it in with the papers more, and once I had set it down I could tell there was some extra I needed to do - so I went digging through all my bits and bobs to see what would fit. I came back with docrafts sew lovely burlap pattern paper offcuts and some of the oyster blush offcuts, and one of my favourites - a cheery lynne  miniature butterfly with angel wing. i cut 6 initially but only used 5 on the card. these had a burlap base and a subtle floral upper, with a smoky pink diamante gem in the centre of each. I also cut one burlap swirl and one floral swirl to go at the edges of the decoupage oval and for the butterflies to 'fly' off.  I also used one of my spellbinders edging strips at the left side between the two paper layers , and distressed and used a rivet on the tag that came in the decoupage - finished with a little lace  and a butterfly, and highlighted the delicate flowers on the paper and image with stickles in cotton candy pink
to finish off i hand tied a lace bow and added a papermania spotty button in the centre.

Left of Center Challenges Mid way inspiration piece for Delicious Doodles challenge #30 Spring Fling

Hello! this challenge at Left Of Center Challenge Blog is sponsored by delicious doodles!
this is your mid way reminder so at this point if you want to join in you still have a week to do so :)

My inspiration for this challenge is a fabby (if i may say so myself) Tri Easel card
using Fairy FaeRosie, and Lilleth

To create this card I used a 12x12 cardstock piece cut down to form the card base , and a 12x12 sheet of green coredinations to form the first mat. The papers are DoveCraft and I used a thin strip of the paper used on one of the others to provide cohesiveness . these i distressed gently along with the backing paper.
I used floral swirls from birds cards at the corners cut on my scan n cut in the same green as the first matt
on fairy fae i cut some tiny butterflies from memory box for two of the corners, on rosie i used some of samaflora's tiny roses , and on Lilleth some of Samaflora's little lilies.
on the base I used some papermania oyster blush papers and a strip of lace, with half pearls for the stoppers.
all the images were coloured using promarkers

hope you like it!

Anniversary card

Hello all, it is mine and my husband's fourth wedding anniversary today, and so I made him this card :-

I went for monochrome with a splash of pinky red!
I made this card using -
couture creation's tied together embossing folder
spellbinders vines of passion (s2 022) dies
a micron fineliner marker pen
black and pink ribbon
small diamantes
black cardstock and white cardstock

I cut the couture creations embossed card down to half the height of the card blank and took some off the edges to make room for a matt, and cut a piece of white cardstock for the bottom, which i drew on using my micron marker pen, glued together and added two layers of ribbon
i then added the assembled hearts and glued diamantes on where the diamonds 'joined' and matted onto black

I hope you like!

New Challenge up at Just For Fun ! Ribbons/ Lace

Hello! it's time for a new challenge over at Just for fun! the theme this month is Ribbons / Lace
and I have created a gorgeous slightly vintage inspired mannequin card for you as inspiration
To make this card I have used - a 6 x 6 inch card blank in white from AMD
, papermania sew lovely papers
peach coredinations cardstock
kraft chequered card
spellbinders floral ovals dies
gorjuss ribbon
see through white ribbon
white small ribbon bow
a strip of off white lace
mannequin cut from in built designs on the scan 'n'cut
small half pearls in pink
small flower gems
'sew special' sentiment stamp
inkpad SU not quite navy

I cut a matt of peach coredinations slightly smaller than the card base, and then a strip of both the papers - making the top a little larger so I could overlap them, it made it easier to join!
i then added the two layers of ribbon and adhered them to the back, before attaching it to the card blank, I then stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner.
I then cut the large floral oval out of peach and the next size down in the burlap style paper. after poking out all the bits, I popped 3d foam pads on the back and added them to the card, layering the second off centre.
I got the glue gun out and used t to adhere the lace to the mannequin, putting in little pleats, then finishing the skirt off with a ribbon bow
i used 3d foam pads to join that to the smaller floral oval, and then I added all the little pearls and gems as finishing touches

Hope you like it and that it has given you some inspiration to join this months challenge over at JFF!
